Senior Systems Administrator


We're looking for a Senior Systems Administrator with formidable knowledge and excellent communication skills. Our Network Operations team is in need of a hands-on, senior level Unix Systems Administrator to maintain and expand our 24x7 network infrastructure.


You must be capable of managing your time well and working efficiently without close supervision. You place a high value on secure, highly available, fault-tolerant systems. You enthusiastically work on troubleshooting efforts and work to prevent them. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.


As a member of our Technical Operations team, you will participate in design decisions and help create the company's core high-volume systems and network infrastructure. You will be expected to come up to speed quickly on difficult problems, to become a significant contributor to a hard-working team, and to take pride in your work. We have high expectations and are looking for seasoned professionals with experience in a wide range of areas. This is an expert-level position.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years experience with UNIX/Linux administration
  • Significant experience with complex networking including architecture and detailed understanding of all levels of OSI stack
  • Significant training and experience in computer security practices.
  • Extensive experience building, supporting, and troubleshooting multi-tier, high-volume, production web installations
  • Build system automation design
  • Advanced programming skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Plus Requirements:

  • Advanced Storage Architecture experience
  • BA/BS or better in Computer Science or a related field

We're looking for a Database Guru with formidable knowledge and excellent communication skills.


About the Position:

  • Install, configure and maintain MySQL databases in staging and production environments
  • Ensure highly available DB environment and be responsible for recoverability in case of disaster
  • Ensure 24x7 non-stop operation, provide on-call support


Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of DBA experience in commercial production environment
  • 3+ years experience with high availability systems
  • Extensive experience with MySQL4.1, 5.0X a plus
  • Linux system management skills (Debian / Ubuntu / CENTOS)
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux scripting, such as Perl/shell
